The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 275 MILLER, Joseph M. WWII Joseph joined the Royal Canadian Air Force #35 RAF Pathfinder Force as a rear air gunner. On what was to be his last flight, Joe and his crew on their Lancaster Bomber were shot down during a raid over Stuttgart and all were killed in action on July 25, 1944. Joe is buried at Dunbach War Cemetery, Germany. By 1944, he had completed three full flight assignments and was due for a deserved homecoming but never did get his leave of absence. Miller Lake in northern Saskatchewan is named in his honour. MILLER, Walter BOER WAR Walter was a Boer War Veteran and was a Lance Corporal of the Bethunes Mounted Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the Victoria Medal and 5 bars, one for each province he served. MITCHELL, Bruce WWII Bruce joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served overseas. MILNE, Ernest WWII Ernest joined the Royal Canadian Army serving with the 11th AA Battery and RCA CAPO #2 and served overseas. He passed away in 1998 and is buried in the North Portal, Saskatchewan, cemetery.
