The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 235 LEAKER, James Alvin WWII James was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, in 1920. He joined the Air Force and served in Canada. He passed away in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, in 1954 and had been a member of the Tugaske Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion for eight years and the Rosetown Legion for one year. LeBLUE, Edmond WWII Edmond was born in St. Pierre-Joly, Manitoba, on October 31, 1920. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on May 2, 1942 at age 22 and was assigned to the Lake Superior Regiment (Motor), a motorized infantry battalion for the 4th Canadian (Armoured) Division as a Platoon Sergeant in D Company and fought through North-West Europe at Falaise, the Scheldt, the lower Mass, Friesoythe and the Rhineland. On April 21, 1945, he was wounded in a fire near the Kusten Canal, Germany. He recovered from his wounds and was re-assigned to the South Saskatchewan Regiment and was discharged from the service on January 7, 1946 for return to civilian life on demobilization. Edmond had been a member of Branch #130 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 40 years before he passed away on March 19, 2010. LEE, Earl WWI Earl was born in 1880 at Lisle, Ontario, and came to Ridgedale in 1913 to homestead. He joined the Army in 1915 and went overseas and was wounded at Passchendaele. He took his soldier’s grant land at Jordan River in 1925 and worked out in summers and spent his winter there. He was a good cook and he rented his land in 1940 and then sold it. He also rented his Ridgedale land and went to cook at camps in Ontario. In 1955, Earl passed away leaving his Ridgedale land to his nephew, George Lee. LEDUC, Albert Leonard WWII Albert was born on April 15, 1925. He joined the Light Infantry and served in England, France, Germany and the Netherlands. He has been a member of Branch #70 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 30 years.
