The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 141 DYER, Frank Robert WWII Frank was born in Wawota, Saskatchewan, on May 6, 1914. He enlisted in Regina on March 13, 1941 with the 101st Field Battery of the RCA as a gunner and served in England, Italy, Belgium, France and Holland and was discharged on December 7, 1945. He received the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the France/Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the War Medal 1939-45 and the General Service Badge. He married Annie Bell Paterson in Airdrie, Scotland, on October 4, 1945 and lived in Wawota, Glen Ewen and Oxbow. They had four children: Jean, David, Gay and Sheila. Frank took great pride in being a War Veteran. He was a member of the Legion Branch #187 for 41 years before he passed away on February 8, 2006. DYKE, Heinrich George “Henry” WWII Henry was born in Oakshela, Saskatchewan, on May 23, 1919. He enlisted in October 1941 and went overseas in September 1942, attached to the 45th Canadian Medical Battery of the 7th Canadian Medical Regiment serving in France. He was killed in action on August 10, 1944 at age 25 and is buried in the Canadian War Cemetery, Calvados, France. EARL, Clifford WWII Clifford was born in Pinto, Saskatchewan, on September 18, 1917. He enlisted in the Canadian Army with the South Saskatchewan Regiment in Estevan on January 9, 1941 and was discharged on January 9, 1946, after having served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #117 North Portal until his passing on June 1, 2000. DYKE, Victor Edward WWII Victor was born in Oakshela, Saskatchewan, on April 25, 1921. He enlisted with the 25th Company of the Royal Canadian Engineers in April 1942 and was posted with his unit for action on the western front and was in Holland at the time of his death on Friday, October 13, 1944, at age 23. He is buried at Bergen-op-Zoom Canadian War Cemetery, Netherlands.
