The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 139 DUNNING, George Ithamer WWII George was born in Port Reeve, Saskatchewan, on July 24, 1916 and joined the #8 General Hospital C.A. (A.F.) in 1941 and served in England, Belgium, France and Holland, and was discharged in 1945. On returning home, he farmed and he and his wife, Jean, raised four children: Robert, Sandra, Larry and Donna. They moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, where he worked for the city until his retirement. George passed away on April 14, 1996. DURBIN, George Henry SPECIAL AREA DUTY and PEACETIME George was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, on July 18, 1929. He joined the service in Moosamin, Saskatchewan, as a boy soldier on December 11, 1944, and served for a total of 50 years before being discharged on July 1, 1994. He received the Canadian Centennial Medal 1967, the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee 1977 Medal, the Canadian Forces Decoration with two clasps, and the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal. He retired as Chief Warrant Officer and has been a member of the Regina Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 30 years. DURBIN, Thomas Donald PEACETIME Thomas was born in Toronto, Ontario, on October 11, 1935. He enlisted in the RCEME on January 12, 1953 and was discharged on January 19, 1973, and enlisted with the RCASC on March 1, 1973 and discharged on December 1, 1979, serving in Canada, the USA, UNEF and Egypt. He retired as Chief Warrant Officer and has been a member of the Regina Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 38 years. DURBIN, Henry George WWII Henry was born in Glamorganshire, England, on September 26, 1901. He joined the Royal Canadian Artillery on September 5, 1939, serving in Canada and England and was discharged on June 27, 1946 as a Battery Sergeant Major. He passed away on February 18, 1973.
