The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 125 DELUCA, Louis “Luigi” KOREA Luigi was born on March 11, 1931 in Montreal, Quebec. He enlisted at Montreal on July 9, 1951 in the Regular Army for service in Korea and the Far East with the 12th Company Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) and 41 Infantry workshop. He left the service on July 9, 1957 at Regina as a Craftsman. After his service, he worked as a motor mechanic with Saskatchewan Power Corporation. DEMANIUK, R. W. “Dick” WWII Dick was born on June 10, 1925 at Hafford, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Army in April 1943 at Vancouver and served in the United Kingdom and Northwest Europe with the Royal New Westminster Regiment (Canada Scots). He left the service at Vancouver in June 1946 as a Sergeant. Married with two sons, he has been employed with the construction industry since the war and has served Nutana Branch #362 as chairman of building and membership committees and as third, second and first vice-presidents. DENEVERS, Frank Holmes WWII Frank was born in Vandura, Saskatchewan in 1921. He was killed in action on September 14, 1942 at the age of 21. He was flying with #22 Operational Training Unit over Germany, their target being Bremen, Germany. He had survived two previous crashes. He has no known grave but his name is inscribed on the Runnymede War Memorial, Englefield Green Egham, Surrey, England. Denevers Lake in Northern Saskatchewan is named in his honour. DENEVE, J. Roger Royal Canadian Air Force Roger was born on February 14, 1937 at Dumas, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on September 27, 1955 and left the service on July 1, 1981. There is no record of service or rank on leaving the service. He received the Canadian Forces Decoration. Roger is married.
