The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 113 DARK, Delmar Denton Royal Canadian Air Force Delmar was born in 1932 at White Fox to George and Ellen. He attended White Fox School and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on August 23, 1950. He married Irene McCelland in June 1953 and raised four children. He retired in 1970 and later worked as a letter carrier for the post office in Sarnia, Ontario. DARK, Evelyn Armed Forces Evelyn was born at Brownlee on June 5, 1922 to George and Ellen and came with her family to White Fox in 1931. She joined the Armed Forces and later married Bill Chometsky in November 1950. They raised five children who all went to school in White Fox. Evelyn and Bill lived in the Blue Spruce area, where he farmed for several years. Evelyn moved to Saskatoon. DAVIES, George WWII George was born and raised in Coronach, Saskatchewan. In 1940, he and his brother, Steve, enlisted in the South Saskatchewan Regiment and both served in “B” Company up to and including the Dieppe Raid, where he miraculously made it back to England uninjured. He remained with his unit to soldier on and was later awarded the MID for combat recognition and returned home to Canada and was then serving with the Saskatoon Light Infantry when he got discharged and he married Dorothy and settled in Milk River, Alberta. DASH, Gordon Hugh WWII Gordon was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, in 1924. He joined the Navy and served in the North Atlantic on HMCS Lachute. He has been a member of the Regina Legion for 30 years.
