The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 109 CUNNINGHAM, Allan W. ARMY Allan was born on December 20, 1967 in Ottawa. He enlisted in the Army on October 31, 1985, serving in Canada, Germany and Kuwait. He left the service on June 30, 1993 as a Master Corporal. Allan is married. CUNNINGHAM, David Lamb WWI David was born in Greenock Twp, Bruce County, near Walkerton, Ontario, on March 3, 1887. He joined the 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles (Saskatchewan Regiment). At Moose Jaw, Dave signed his attestation paper agreeing to serve for the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force and on November 26, 1917 his training qualifications were listed as L.R.B. Lewis Gunner, Rifle Bomber. His two major battles were at Passchendaele and Mons and was wounded twice and gassed by mustard gas in the trenches and recovered in hospital in France. He received his discharge on March 3, 1919 and was awarded the British War Medal and the Allied Victory Medal. Dave returned to his farm in the Birsay area and married Mildred Ayers and had a son, Melbert, and a daughter, Elaine. David passed away on December 23, 1974. CUSHWAY, Douglas H. WWII Douglas was born in Plaistow, London, England, on March 22, 1923. He joined the Royal Canadian Dragoons in 1942 and served in Canada, England, North Africa and Italy. He lost both legs below the knee on November 28, 1944. He was discharged in May 1945 and is the National Director of the War Amps (Saskatchewan Branch). Douglas has been a member of the Moose Jaw Legion for 65 years. CURRY, D. C. P. WWII D. C. P. Curry was born on August 24, 1924 at North Battleford. He enlisted in the Army in January 1942, serving with the Signal Corps (RCCS) in Canada and the United Kingdom. He left the service in 1945 as a Signalman. He is married.
