The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 95 DENNIS, Wilfrid L. WWI Wilfrid was born in 1897 in Ancaster, ON. He joined the First Canadian Regiment (1st CMRs) on November 18, 1916 and went overseas with the 249th Battalion on the Queen Mary in April of 1918. They were stationed at Shornecliff Camp where he took intensive training. He was shipped to France on August 21, 1918. He received head and hand wounds from Shrapnel. He was hospitalized and then returned to Canada for demobilization. After the war he became a farmer. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Wawota Branch #113 for 23 years. Wilfrid passed away in 1953. DERWORIZ, Steve WWII Steve was born on December 4, 1921. He served with the Regina Rifles in Nanaimo, B.C. and Prince George, B.C. He also served on the Kiska Islands. Steve passed away on May 28, 1989. DEWEY, William Joseph WWII William was born on September 18, 1919 in Young, SK. He enlisted in the 21st Field Regiment Canadian Army on April 12, 1943 in Victoria BC. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, and the Central Mediterranean. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, and the France and Germany Star. He was discharged on December 20, 1945. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion branch #358 in 1950 and was presented with his Life Membership in 1995. William passed away on July 4, 2006. DEWAR, Duncan Alexander WWII Duncan was born on April 5, 1922 in Leroy, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force on June 26, 1942 and served as an aeroplane mechanic in Dauphin, Manitoba. He was honourably discharged on October 9, 1945. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Leroy Branch #309 for 25 years. Duncan passed away on December 17, 2005.
