The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 89 DEARY, Arthur Ervin WWII Arthur was born in 1922 in Miry Creek, SK. He enlisted with the Navy in 1942. One of the destroyer ships he was on was the H.M.C.S. Huron. He was on active duty on D-Day. One of the highlights during the war was when he met up with his brother Austin in London, England in 1944. Arthur passed away in 1961. DEARY, Austin Harry Albert WWII Austin was born in 1919 in Cabri, SK. He enlisted with the Army in 1941 and was sent to England in 1942 and was stationed in Sussex for 4 years with #5 Battalion School. He drove Troop Transports. He came back to Canada in 1946. Austin and his wife Irene and their 2 daughters made their home in Edmonton, AB. DEBOLT, John Raymond Peacetime John joined the Canadian Air Force in January of 1950 and took his basic training in Montreal QC with Ordinance. After training he transferred to Shilo, MB with Parachute Maintenance Depot for 8 years. He toured Germany 1958-1960 4 Ordnance Field Park. He returned to Canada to 1 Ordnance field Park, Calgary AB from 1960 – 1963. He went to Montreal from19631965 as Instructor. He served in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta until he retired as Chief Warrant Officer 1982. John is a Pelly Legion Member. DEARY, Harvey Owen Peacetime Harvey was born in 1930 in Eston, SK. While he was attending school in Winnipeg, he was a member of the Navy Cadets and he attended summer camps for Cadets in Canora, ON. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve at H.M.C.S. Unicorn in Saskatoon. He was in the Navy Reserve for 5 years. He was with the Supply School at Esquimalt, BC and was drafted to the H.M.C.S. Ontario. Harvey is a 44-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion in Calgary.
