The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 85 CYRENNE, Roger WWII Roger was born on June 15, 1917 and was raised on the farm and attended Notre Dame East School. After quitting school, he worked as farm laborer both at home and in the surrounding district. On July 12, 1941, he enlisted in the Canadian Army, 4th Division Petrol Company in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. After training in Canada, he embarked for England in 1942. On Invasion Day, June 6, 1944, he landed in Normandy France. He served as Dispatch Rider in France, Holland, Belgium, and Germany until VE Day on May 8, 1945. Roger passed away on March 19, 1978. DAHL, Berthold WWII Berthold was born in Ringbu, Norway on September 16, 1905. He immigrated to the USA, with his family when he was 6 months old. They later moved to the Pelly area. He enlisted in June of 1943 and was sent overseas in April of 1944 and was stationed with the Westminster Regiment. He served in Italy and the Western Front. He came home in January 1946. He received his discharge and was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, The Italy Star, The France & Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and the War Medal 1939-1945. Berthold passed away on October 1, 1957. DAVIES, Harold Harold joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. DAVIDSON, David Robert Joseph WWII David was born in 1920 in Ponteix, SK. He enlisted with the army in February of 1943 in Regina, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps and went from Regina to Vancouver, to Prince George and then onto Prince Rupert for a few months. He went overseas to England, then to Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He joined the Regina Rifle Regiment in Holland. He came back from overseas in 1946 and was discharged in February. He was married in June 28, 1947. David passed away on February 5, 2008.
