He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and served in Canada in Shilo and Fort Churchill Manitoba from May 1947 until May 1950. CURRIE, Lionel Glenn WWII Lionel was born on April 19, 1924 in Mt. Forest, ON. He enlisted with the Army on December 13, 1941. He spent his 18th birthday in England rather than be sent back to Canada. He was taken out of the Regiment and made an instructor. When he turned 19 years of age he was returned to the 2nd Heavy A.A. Regiment. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Penzance and Moose Jaw Branches. Lionel passed away on August 24, 1987. CURRIE, William Roy WWII & Peacetime William was born on August 10, 1926 in Davidson, SK. He enlisted with the Army in 1943 and served during WWII with the C.T.T.C. and the R.C.E.M.E. From January 1946 to January 1953 he served with the L.D.S.H. (RC) and in 1953 he went back to the R.C.E.M.E. In 1960 when the Army started to get helicopters he switched from a vehicle officer to an A/C Tech GP. In Approx 1975 when the R.C.A.F. had to re-badge and anyone that had an Aircraft Trade, he then went to the R.C.A.F. 434 Sqn. in Cold Lake, AB. William has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 31 years. CURRIE, W. M. WWII He was born January 31, 1883 in Mt. Forest, ON. He enlisted with the Veteranʼs Guard of Canada on January 8, 1943 and was stationed at Prisoner of War Camps in Southern Alberta until his discharge on February 26, 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Penzance Branch. He passed away on December 30, 1962.
