The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 75 COURCHENE, Omer Joseph Albert WWII Omer was born on October 21, 1910 in Duck Lake, SK. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force Goose Squadron 408 as a gun and bomb armourer. He trained the new recruits. He was stationed at Linton and Yorkshire England from December 1942 to July 1945. Omer now resides in Duck Lake, SK. At the age of 97 he is still an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #246. COURCHENE, Wilfred WWII Wilfred was born on March 25, 1915 in Duck Lake, SK. He enlisted with the Army on September 11, 1939 and was posted overseas in 1940 and remained in England until 1943 when he was attached to the Headquarters Staff, third Brigade of 1st Canadian Division in Sicily. In September of the same year he was transferred to Italy with the same Unit where he remained until the end of the Italian Campaign in March of 1945. He then served in Holland; from there he was returned to England for repatriation. He was discharged on November 10, 1945. Wilfred passed away on August 18, 1978. CRAWFORD, Dave WWII Leading Seaman Dave Crawford joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1940. CRAWFORD, Annie WWII Annie joined the Womenʼs Air Force Corps in 1940.
