The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 61 CAMERON, AJ WWII AJ was born in 1922 in Kifling, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in August of 1940. He was sent overseas in December of 1940 and landed in Scotland and was sent south to join forces in London and got in on the Battle of Britain. They were shifted from one base to another until they ended up at an RCAF base. He served in Canada and Europe until his discharge. He married Beryl Davis and they raised a family of 3 children. AJ is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Wawota Branch #113. CAMPBELL, Gordon WWII Gordon joined the Royal Canadian Army at Regina in 1941 and was stationed at Dundurn, SK. He transferred to Camp Shilo, MB and then transferred back to Saskatoon. Due to health problems, he did not serve overseas. After his discharge he returned to Pelly. Later he retired to a home for Veterans in Saskatoon. CARLETON, Albert WWII Albert was born in 1922 in Swift Current, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada during the war. Albert has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Swift Current Branch #56 for 42 years. CARIGNAN, Gaston A. WWII Gaston began his army life on July 24, 1941. He received his basic training in Regina. From Regina he was transferred to Curry Barracks in Calgary, AB and successfully completed a meat cutting and chef course. In June of 1942 he was transferred to Red Deer, AB. During his posting there he was in charge of the SSgtʼs Mess until March 1945. His next posting was Petawawa for his overseas training. He received his discharge on December 20, 1945. He was a very active member of the Pontiex Legion as an executive member and as a volunteer. Gaston passed away on October 16, 2004.
