The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 41 BLOOR, Charles WWII Charles was born in 1917 at the farm homestead near Oungre, SK. He was called into service on February 5, 1942. His service number was L602945 with the Regina Riflemen. He spent some time in Regina, SK, Terrace, BC and Nanaimo, BC before going overseas in 1944. While overseas he served in England, France and Holland before being discharged on March 21, 1946. Upon returning home he farmed at Oungre. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #306. Charles passed away in 1979. BLOOR, Elmer WWII Elmer was born in 1913 in Oungre, SK. He was called into service in February of 1943 and spent some time in Regina, Prince Albert and Calgary before going overseas. He served in England, Italy, France, and Holland before his discharge in March of 1946. After the war he came home to Oungre and helped on the farm until he married and moved to Brandon, Manitoba. Elmer passed away in 2003. BLYTH, Stanley WWII Stanley was born in 1921 in Rocanville, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941. He took his basic training in Edmonton and then onto Montreal to received training in Electronics and then onto Ontario for Radar training with the R.A.F. He was trained in Air to Surface Vessels and was then sent to Britain. He served in England and Africa until his discharge. Stanley has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Whitewood Branch for 63 years. BLOUDOFF, John WWII John joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served across Canada from 1943 to 1946.
