The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 39 BJERKE, Evelyn WWII Evelyn joined the Canadian Womenʼs Army Corp in 1942 and took basic training at Vermillion Alberta. She was stationed in Nanaimo, B.C., later transferred to Victoria Gordon Head Hospital. She was discharged in 1944. BJORK, Carl Albin WWII Carl was born on April 3, 1924. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada until he was discharged. Carl passed away on June 30, 1991. BLOOR, Alfred Clarence “Bud” WWII Bud was born on February 12, 1920 on the family farm, one mile south of Oungre, SK. He enlisted with the R.C.C.S. Corps on June 21, 1941. He served in Canada, England, France, Italy, Belgium, and Holland, his service Unit being the 5th Division Signals. He received the CVSM, the War Medal 1939-45, the Defense Medal, the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, and the France and Germany Star for his service. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion in 1946 at the #306 Branch. Bud passed away on July 8, 2007. BLACK, Norman S. WWI Norman was a World War I veteran. He enlisted in 1916 and fought overseas in WW I with the Garry Horse Regiment and was severely gassed. After the war he returned home and farmed east of Pelly.
