The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 361 WILSON, Wesley Kilgore “Wes” WWII Wes was born to Thomas Andrew Baker and Annie Louise (Kilgore) Wilson, who farmed in the Carlyle, SK area. When the Second World War broke out, Wes joined the Canadian Army on November 19, 1942. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe before being discharged on February 22, 1946. He was awarded the following medals: 1939-1945 Star, France & Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service and Clasp. WINTER, Muriel Joy WWII Muriel was born on March 29, 1924 in Tyner, SK. She enlisted with the C.W.A.C. on August 21, 1944 and served in Canada until her discharge on March 4, 1946. She took a nursing aid course and later her (LPN), Licensed Practical Nursing. Muriel passed away on September 22, 1968. WOOD (FOOTE), Mary WWII Mary enlisted in the Canadian Womenʼs Corp in 1942 in Vancouver, B.C. and took basic training in Vermillion, Alberta. She served in different military camps in B.C. until she was discharged in 1945. WITNEY, James Wilson WWII James was born in 1916 in Killiher, SK. He enlisted with the Army and served with the #12 Manitoba Dragoons in Belgium, France, and Holland. He achieved the rank of Lance Corporal. James passed away in 1982.
