The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 355 WESTBURY, Howard Judson WWII Howard was born in 1898 in Worthing, South Dakota. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps on August 29, 1941. He served with CAOS in Italy, France, Germany and Belgium, for a total of 1514 days of service. He received his discharge on October 20, 1945. Howard passed away in 1968. WESTMAN, George Alexander WWII George was born on January 28, 1920 in Kinaston, SK. He joined the Saskatchewan Light Infantry in November of 1939 and was off to Aldershot England in December of 1939. He arrived in Sicily early in the morning, as there was immediate front line action within the countryside. He developed desert sores on his feet and spent time in hospital in North Africa. In August of 1943 they were shipped by train to an Army camp, and then to Larento and finally to Ortona. They left Naples on May 17, 1945 and arrived in New York City for the Easter Parade. George passed away in 1989. WETZEL, Peter WWII Peter was born in 1921 in Chamberlain, SK. He enlisted with the Army and served as a Gunner in England, Italy, France and Germany. He was wounded while serving in Italy. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Foam Lake Branch for 40 year. Peter passed away in 1998. WESTWATER, Robert WWII Robert was born in 1925 in Scott, SK. He enlisted with the Army in 1943 and served with the 48th Highlanders in Canada until his discharge in 1946. Robert has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Wilkie Branch #129 for 40 years.
