The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 341 VOGELI, Lloyd WWII Lloyd joined the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. WADE, Robert Allen WWII Robert was born in 1920 in Halifax, NS. He joined the 76th Battery in Indian Head, SK in July of 1940. He trained at Petewawa, ON, and in England. He served in Italy from late 1943 until spring of 1945 and then moved onto Holland to finish up. He came home to Canada in August of 1945 and was demobilized in October of 1945 in Winnipeg. Robert has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 51 years. WALDEN, Levi WWI & WWII Levi was born in 1900 in Lilac, SK. He enlisted with the Army in 1917 and served in Canada for WWI. He enlisted with the Army in 1939 in Saskatoon and served in Canada for WWII as well. After the war he returned to Lilac, SK to farm. He and his wife Jennie retired to North Battleford, SK. Levi passed away in 1977. WALD, Nelson Pius WWII Nelson was born on March 10, 1920 in Wishek, North Dakota. His family moved to Canada in 1926. He enlisted with the army on May 16, 1944 in Saskatoon. He spent Christmas of 1944 in Liverpool and shortly after they were sent to France. After receiving special combat training, they were moved to the front at Nijmegen, Holland. He was injured while battling a sniper and spent time recovering in Glasgow. He returned to the front on May 8, 1945, the day the war ended. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Nelson is a member of The RCL Wilkie Branch.
