The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 335 TURNER, Bernard WWI Bernard was born on April 4, 1898 in Kent, England. He enlisted with the Army on May 24, 1916 and served with the 5th Western Calvary, 152nd Battalion in England and France. He was wounded at Vimy Ridge by machine gun fire. He had bullets in both legs but there was no major damage. He was declared missing in action until he was found a few days later in a shell crater. He was sent to a hospital in England and he finished the war as a bombing instructor. Bernard was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Estevan Branch #60. TURNER, Kenneth Bernard Peacetime Kenneth was born on September 25, 1947 in Estevan, SK. He served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment, Young Soldiers Training Plans (Militia), and the Kings Own Calgary Regiment, URTP. He also served with the RCAF, Cadet Services of Canada as a Cadet Instructor. He holds CD with 2 Bars and is still serving as a Cadet Instructor. Kenneth has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Estevan Branch #60 for 39 years. TYCHOLAZ, Alexander WWII Alexander went to Vesna school. He joined the Canadian Army 1942 and was discharged in 1943. He returned home to help on the farm. TURNER, Kenneth William WWII Kenneth was born on July 10, 1923 in Estevan, SK. He enlisted with the RCNVR in 1942. He was a Stoker 2nd Class and served at various units for training. He volunteered for the war on Japan. He was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Estevan Branch #60. Kenneth passed away on February 25, 2004.
