The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 331 THOMPSON, Hans WWI Hans served during the First World War from 1914 until 1919. THOMPSON, Robert “Bob” WWII Bob was born on June 10, 1918 in Drinkwater, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 26, 1941. After basic training in Lethbridge, AB he was stationed in Torbay, Newfoundland. There he served on Aerodrome Maintenance. When he was honourably discharged on January 26, 1946 he was transferred into the Reserve General Section Class E. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He was an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion and was awarded a Life Membership. Bob passed away on October 4, 2002. TONNELLIER, George WWII George moved to Carlyle in 1941. When he completed his High School he joined the R.C.N.V.R. in April of 1943. He served as a signalman on a minesweeper in the English Channel. George served on HMCS “Bayfield” and took part in the VD Day Invasion of France. He was discharged in November, 1945. After coming out of the Navy, he continued in the printing trade, at which he had become interested during his school years in time spent with Frank OʼNeill in the Observer Office. George married Elsie Hermanson and raised one girl and two boys. TODORUK, Bill WWII Bill was born on April 9, 1910 in the Maybridge District. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1939 until 1945.
