The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 313 STERZER, Mike WWII Mike served for four years overseas with the Regina Rifle Regiment and was wounded. After his discharge he returned home to the original homestead at Beaver Plains. ST. GERMAIN, Emile WWII Emile was born in 1919 in St. Laurent, SK. He enlisted with the Army and served in England, Canada, Germany and Belgium. Emile was killed in action in 1944 in Brugg, Belgium. STOCKTON, James “Russell” WWII Russell was born on November 10, 1917 to Walter and Mary (McGraw) Stockton at Wordsworth, SK. After completing his schooling, Russell joined the Canadian Army and the 1st Battalion of the Winnipeg Light Infantry. He served overseas in the United Kingdom as training officer and taught field mechanics. After Russell returned home and was discharged, he, along with his brother, Eddie, started their business known as “Stocktonʼs Electric.” In 1951, Russell married Alyce Eckert. STOBEE (BROWN), Cora WWII Cora joined the C.W.A.C. in August of 1942 and took her basic training at Vermillion, AB. She then transferred to Regina and worked in canteen then to Winnipeg for Documentation training, typing, shorthand. She transferred to Saskatoon and served in the Orderly room as personnel documentation clerk. She transferred to Ottawa in 1945 and worked on Military discharge and transportation home. She transferred to Vancouver in 1946 and then to Lethbridge “German Prisoner of War Camp” until it was closed in late 1947. Cora is a Pelly Legion member.
