Upon volunteering for active duty he joined the 67th Battery in Rosetown, SK. He took correspondence courses in Electricity. He served in England and various theatres of war throughout Europe. He was awarded the France and Germany Star, Defense Medal and the 1939-45 Star. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Birch Hills Branch #122. Lester passed away in 1998. SKOCZYLAS, John Paul WWII John was born in 1925 in North Portal, SK. He enlisted with the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada until his discharge. John is a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion North Portal Branch #117. SMALL, Dwight C. WWII Dwight was born in 1922 in Saskatchewan. He joined the Army in March of 1942 at the age of 20. He took a Motor Mechanics Course in Ontario. He arrived in England in 1944 and trained in tanks and then was transferred to Infantry. He served in Canada, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He received his discharge in February of 1946. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, Victory Medal, 1939-45 Star, and the France and Germany Star. Dwight has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #119 for 62 years. SKORLATOWSKI, Joseph Edward WWII Joseph was born in 1920 in Lanigan, SK. He enlisted with the Army and served with the R.C.E. 1st Core, 12th Field and 10th Field. He served in England, Italy, Holland, France and Germany. He received the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, The Defense Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the 1945 Holland Thank You Medal. Joseph has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Lanigan Branch for 53 years.
