The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 299 SCHOW, Roy WWII Roy served in the Second World War in 1942 with the Royal Canadian Infantry and took basic training in Chiliwack & Vernon B.C. He was stationed in the Kiska Islands until he was discharged in 1945. SCUTCHINGS, Arthur WWII Arthur was born in 1910 in Alliston, ON. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force on December 13, 1941. He was designated as a Leading Aircraftsman and took his basic training in MacLeod, AB. He suffered a broken wrist when overseas which he received a small pension. He was honourably discharged on October 10, 1945. He received the 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Aircrew Europe Star, Defense Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Foam Lake Branch #16. Arthur passed away in 1992. SEGHERS, Edgar August WWII Edgar was born on April 21, 1923 in Oungre, SK. He enlisted as a Private in the Army on December 29, 1942 with the Princess Louise Fusiliers. He served in Canada, England, Italy and the Mediterranean area. He was discharged on June 13, 1946. He received the CVSM & Clasp, the Italy Star, and the France and Germany Star. He married Greta in Holland and returned home to Canada. Edgar was a Charter Member of The Royal Canadian Legion South Saskatchewan Branch #306. He retired to Weyburn where he still resides. SCUTCHINGS, Harry WWII Harry was born in 1895 in Tring, Hertfordshire, England. He enlisted with the Canadian Army during WWI and served with the 46th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment in France and Belgium. He was awarded the Military Medal “For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty before Passchendale on October 26, 1917”. Harry was killed in action in 1917 at Passchendale.
