The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 291 SALLOUM, Habeeb “Habbe” WWII Habbe was born on March 9, 1924 in Karoun, Lebanon (Syria). He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada and England until his discharge. Habbe received the Air Gunnerʼs Badge and the War Medal. SANBY, Norman R. WWII Norman was born on June 15, 1919 in Lyndhurst, England. He came to Canada with his parents in 1926. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in January of 1941 and went overseas in May. From 1941 to 1944 he served as Radio Mechanic in R.A.F. He returned to Canada in 1944 and took over the family farm after the death of his father. He received a compassion discharge in March of 1945. Norman is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Abernethy Branch #26. SANDERSON, Frank WWII Frank served in the army. SANBY, Stewart R. WWI Stewart was born on March 1, 1886 in Southern England. He joined the 14th Hussars in January of 1906 and served in England and India. He was transferred to the machine Gun Corp and served all of WWI. He was discharged in March of 1920 after 11 years in service. He immigrated to Canada in 1926 to farm in the Abernethy area. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Abernethy Branch #26 for 18 years. Stewart passed away in 1944.
