The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 285 ROSE, John Robert WWII John was born in 1919 in Leslie, SK. He enlisted with the Army in 1940 in Regina. He trained in Manitoba and was deployed to England. While in England, he tested positive for tuberculosis and returned to Saskatchewan. He was tested throughout the rest of his life and never had another positive test. He served in the Army in Canada until January 1944 when he returned home. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Leslie Branch # 172 for 32 years. John passed away in 1976. ROSS, E. Roman WWI & WWII Roman was born in 1895 in St. Lazare, MB. He served in WWI overseas in England and France with the 1st & 5th Battalion from 1914-1918. He was honourably discharged on April 12, 1919 in Regina, SK. He served in the Veteranʼs Guard of Canada during WWII. Roman passed away on February 26, 1946 while in the service in the internment camp in Lethbridge, AB. ROURKE, Frank WWII Frank joined August 12, 1940 to the Saskatchewan Horse. He went overseas spring of 1941 and was put in a B.C. Regiment. He was in France, Germany, and through to Holland. Frank was discharged on September 28, 1945. ROULSTON, James Craig WWII James was born on February 1, 1881 in Spring Vale, ON. He moved with his family from Hagersville, ON to the Prince District of Saskatchewan in 1909. There he homesteaded on a ¼ section of land. He joined the Army during WWI. He served with the 5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment, Canadian Infantry in France and Belgium. James was killed in action in Belgium on September 21, 1917. He is buried in the Tournai Communal Cemetery, Allied Extension, Belgium.
