He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces in July of 1941 at the age of 23. He departed for overseas on September 10, 1942 where he served with the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps in the shoe repair depot. Jack died from gas fumes in England after the end of the war. He is buried in a Military Cemetery, Brookwood Station, Working, Surrey, Row B, Grave 3. POZER, James William WWII James was born in 1916 in Duck Lake, SK. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Canada until his discharge. POZER, Sydney Melbourne WWII Syd was born in 1917 in Duck Lake, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940. He served with Bomber Command, completing two tours and receiving tour bar and badge. German Night Fighters shot down his plane in April of 1943. He spent over 2 years as a German Prisoner of war at Stalag Luft III and worked on the tunnel of the “Great Escape” prison break where the Germans shot fifty allied officers. POZER, John Harold WWII John was born in 1925 in Duck Lake, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Navy and served in the North Atlantic until his discharge.
