The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 253 PEARSON, Axel Peter WWII Axel was born in 1917 in Jasmin, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Saskatchewan. He served with the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion and trained at Port Benning, Georgia. Axel was killed in action on August 18, 1944 at the age of 27. He is buried at Ranville War Cemetery in France. PEARSON, Walter Bernard WWII Walter was born in 1925 in Jasmin, SK. He enlisted with the Army in 1942 and served with the Highland Light Infantry. Upon his return he resided in Kelliher, SK. He married Adele Karapita and they had 3 sons and 2 daughters. Walter and his wife still reside in Regina, SK. PECK, Bud R. RCMP Bud was born in 1942 in Regina, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on May 30, 1962. He was promoted as follows: Cpl. on February 1, 1974, Sgt. on January 8, 1979 and S/Sgt. on January 3, 1991. He was awarded the Long Service Medal with the Silver Clasp and Star. Bud retired from the Force in 1991. PECK, Albert E. WWII Albert was born in 1901 in England. He joined the Army in Grenfell, SK in 1941. He received military training in Regina and was stationed there at 12th District Depot Military Fire Hall. He spent time in Hamilton ON and Camp Shilo, MB. He broke his ankle while at Camp Shilo and was sent back to Regina where he spent the remainder of his military career at the 12th District Military Fire Hall. He received an honourable discharge in 1944. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Abernethy Branch for 39 years. Albert passed away in 1984.
