He enlisted with the Army and served with the British Paratroops in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Holland, Greece, Rhodes, Crete, Salonica, Skopte, and Sofia. Harold has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Calgary Branch #285 for 50 years. PASIEKA, Orest WWII Orest is the son of Joseph and Julianna Pasieka. He attended Arran HS and Nutana Collegiate. He served in the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps from June 1942 to June 1946. He took basic training in Prince Albert and his clerkʼs course in Winnipeg. He was posted in Maple Creek, Camp Borden and 1 1/2 years in Ottawa, Army HQ with rank as Corporal. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War medal. PAYNE, C. Orme WWII Orme was born in 1922 in Neville, SK. He enlisted with the Army on July 24, 1940 and served with the 17th Field Regiment RCA in Italy and Holland until his discharge of February 28, 1946. He was awarded the M.I.D. for his service. Orme has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Port Moody Branch for 18 years. PATTERSON, Robert Andrew WWII Robert was born on December 30, 1921 in Moose Jaw, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in May of 1941. He received his wings at Claresholm in February of 1942. He went to England in March of 1942. On the night of November 22, 1942 he was practicing solo night flying, when his plane was involved in a midair collision with a spitfire craft, both pilots were killed. The crash site was 2 miles north of Lissett Airfield, near Barmston East Yorkshire, England. Robert was buried in St Maryʼs Churchyard, Brandesburton Yorkshire England on November 26, 1946.
