The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 237 NELSON, Paul Marvin WWII Paul was born in 1911 in DeLamiere, North Dakota. He enlisted with the Army and served with the 11th Car, C Squad, Ont. Tanks in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe until his discharge. Paul received the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the War Medal 1939-45. He joined Spiritwood Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion in 1961. Paul passed away in 1997. NICHOLAS, Archie WWII Archie was born in 1920 in Duck Lake, SK. He enlisted with the Army and served with the Mediterranean Force, 8th Army, 2nd Canadian Brigade in England and Italy until his discharge. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Duck Lake Branch #246. Archie passed away in 2006. NISHIMURA, Sannosuke “Sam” WWI Sam was born in 1897 in Kobe, Japan. He enlisted with the Army and served with the 15th Battalion, Canadian Infantry, Central Ontario Regiment overseas with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in England. He received the 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, and the Memorial Cross for his service. Sam passed away in 1919 and is buried in Ripon Cemetery in Yorkshire, England. NIMETZ, Metro WWII Metro enlisted in 1942 with the Royal Canadian Army and served in Canada, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, France, Belgium and Germany. He received 5 medals of Honour for his service.
