The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 217 McLEOD, William Paterson WWII William was born in 1919 in Gull Lake, SK. He enlisted with the RCAF and served with the #419 Moose Squadron in England and Europe. On the 5th mission, a German Folker Wolf 190 spotted them and began firing, and their airplane was hit and caught on fire. The crew continued to do their job as William downed 2 of the 3 Folker Wolf aircraft that were firing on them; the 3rd turned away and left. Their plane crash-landed, all the crew survived, but they were eventually captured by the Germans and spent the next two years as POWs. William escaped just before the end of the war. McMORRIS, Allan WWII Allan was born in 1919 in Abernethy, SK. He served on Active Service with the R.C.A.F. as an Aircraft Mechanic from August 11, 1941 until October 20, 1945. He served with the 143 Wing, 440 Squadron and arrived overseas on January 17, 1944 to Ayr, Scotland. He served in Canada, England, France, Germany and Belgium. He received the following Medals: CVSM and Clasp, 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Defense Medal and War Medal. He was a member of The RCL for 49 years. Allan passed away in 1994. McNEILL, Donald Henry WWII Donald was born in 1918 in Brandon, MB. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with 424 Squadron. He completed 1 tour of operations in Bomber Command while serving in Yorkshire, England and North Africa. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Foam Lake Branch for 58 years. Donald passed away in 2003. McMORRIS (PAGE), Marjorie Law WWII Marjorie was born in 1922 in Abernethy, SK. She served on Active Service with the Royal Canadian Air Force Womenʼs Division from March 25, 1942 until December 18, 1945. She left Canada on December 14, 1943 and arrived in Bowrnemouth, England on December 22, 1943. She was posted to London on January 2, 1944 to the Royal Canadian Air Force overseas Headquarters. She arrived back in Canada in November of 1945. She received the War Medal 1939-45, Defense Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Marjorie married Allan McMorris in November of 1946.
