The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 213 McINTOSH, Norman WWII Norman enlisted with the Army and served with the Regina and Winnipeg Rifles in Europe. He participated in the 2nd Wave of the D-Day Invasion and was wounded in the leg and taken as a POW. Norman passed away in 1968. McKAY, Melvin “Buck” WWII Buck moved with his parents Rod and Fjola McKay and brother, Jack, to Carlyle, SK in 1936. His father worked at the coal docks for the C.N.R. Buck received his education in Carlyle. He joined the Regina Rifles of the Canadian Army. Melvin was killed in action. McKENZIE, Raymond George WWII Raymond was born on March 24, 1914 in Tribune, SK. He grew up on the farm and joined the Army in 1942. He spent a lot of time in the trenches in Italy. After the war he farmed for a bit and eventually married and moved to Quensel, BC. Raymond passed away on May 30, 1995. McKENZIE (FOY), Elva WWII Elva was born in 1924 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. She enlisted with the WRCN in 1943 and served in Canada aboard the HMCS Stadicona. She was discharged in 1946. She has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Moosomin Branch #81 for 35 years. Elva now resides on a farm near Moosomin, SK.
