The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 159 HUNTER, Stewart David WWII Stewart was born in 1926 in Elfros, SK. He joined the Army on February 13, 1945 and served with Infantry in Canada until his discharge. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Elfros Branch #237 for 38 years. Stewart passed away in 1985. HUSAK, Peter WWII Peter joined the Canadian Army in 1941 and served with the Algonquin Regiment. He was killed overseas during the War in Continental Europe. He was the son of Alex & Irene Husak, Arran. Peter died March 7, 1945, at the age of 25. INGELL, Leslie Raymond WWII Leslie was born in 1922 in Porterville, California. His family returned to Macrorie, SK in 1924. He enlisted with the R.C.A.F. in 1942. He was trained as an Air Gunner and went overseas in 1943 and was attached to the R.A.F. He completed several bombing missions over Germany and was killed in action when his plane was shot down over Germany on March 24, 1944. He is buried in Reichswald Forest Cemetery in Germany near the Holland border. For his service to Canada, Les received the C.V.S.M., King George VI Medal, The Air Crew Europe Star, and the 1939-45 Star. HYDE, Richard C. WWII Richard was born in 1923 in Wawota, SK. He joined the RCAF on September 24, 1941. He served with the 78 Squadron, #4 Bomber Group in England. He received the following awards: DFM Medal, 1939-45 Star, Air Crew of Europe Defense Medal, Volunteer Medal, RCAF OPP Wing, Hors De Combat Medal, 1939-45 Defense Medal, Defense of Holland Medal, and Air Gunner Wing. Richard has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Wawota Branch #113 for 34 years.
