He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army and served in Canada until his discharge. Eli passed away in 1984. HODGE, Jack WWII Jack joined the South Saskatchewan Regiment of the Canadian Army in 1939. He was stationed at Dundurn, SK and Chatham, ON. He was discharged in 1945. HOLLAND, Emily WWII Emily was born in 1921 to Thomas and Mary Ann Holland who were of Irish descent and who had emigrated to Saskatchewan and to Carlyle in 1922. She took her schooling in Carlyle and then when the Second World War broke out, she joined the armed forces as a member of the C.W.A.C. (Canadian Womenʼs Army Corp) in 1942 and was stationed at Brockville, ON at the Officersʼ Training Centre (OTC). This is where she met her husband, Oliver Crate Sr. After being discharged from the service she and her husband worked in the catering business. They raised one daughter and three boys. Emily passed away in 1985. HOFFMAN, Edward J. WWII Edward was born in 1922 in Bremen, SK. He enlisted with the Army and served with the Regina Rifles Regiment. He served overseas as a Regimental Police most of the time, he stayed in Holland as Occupational Forces until the end of 1945. He returned him on January 1, 1946. Edward is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Wakaw Branch #195 for 44 years.
