He joined the Navy in 1943 and took his basic training in Calgary and was then transferred to Cornwallis, NS for more training where he specialized in the “Anti Aircraft Gunners Course”. He served on the Port Arthurʼs Ship where he was on escort duty. He signed up for Pacific Duty and served on the Q121 Ship. He received the following Medals: Voluntary Service, Georgivs VIL, CBR REXEI, The Atlantic Star, and INDIAP. He was a member of The RCL Ponteix Branch for 42 years. Roy passed away on April 23, 2006. EWEN, Cecil James WWII Cecil was born in 1921 in Kelvington, SK. He enlisted with the Canadian Armoured Corps on November 13, 1942 in Regina, SK. He served with the BCD Tanks in England, Africa and Italy where he was wounded in 1944. He was hospitalized in England. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Kelvington Branch #19 for 62 years. Cecil passed away in 2007. FIELD, Bernard WWII Bernard served in the Army for 13 years and was stationed in Germany & Cyprus. He was awarded the France & Germany Star, Defense Medal & the War Medal. EWEN, William Albert WWII William was born in 1917 in Kelvington, SK. He enlisted with the Army on September 7, 1939. He served with the 1st Yorkton Light Anti-Aircraft Squadron in England, Sicily, Italy, Holland and Germany until his discharge on September 7, 1945. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Kelvington Branch #19 for 60 years. William passed away in 1997.
