The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 9 ADAMS, Charles M. WWII Charles was born in 1917 in Birch Hills, SK. He enlisted with the PA Volunteers in the spring of 1941. He served with the 7th Medium Artillery Regiment in Canada, Great Britain, France, Holland and Germany until his release in January of 1946. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, 1939-45 Star, France Germany Star, and The Defense. Medal. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Birch Hills Branch #122 for 30 years. Charles passed away in 1977. ALLEN, Harold Gordon WWII Harold was born in 1917 in Willow Bunch, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with the 49th and the 617th Squadron “The Dam Busters”. He flew 47 missions on Lancaster Bombers during the war. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Kelvington Branch for 30 years. Harold passed away in 2003. ANDERSON, Albert Elwin WWII Albert was born in 1914 in Leroy, SK. He is the eldest son of Alma and Charles worked on several farms before enlisted with the Army in the Tank Corps. He trained recruits to drive trucks, tanks, etc at Camp Borden in Ontario. After the war he farmed briefly and then he worked at the Silver Head mines in Trail, BC for many years. His hobbies were photography and collecting pocketknives. Albert passed away in 2001. ALLEN, Sydney WWII Sydney was born on May 23, 1915 in Rosewood, SK. He joined the Army in 1940 and was assigned to the Special Wireless Section Type “B”, Royal Canadian Signals as a driver, where he attained the rank of Lance Corporal. His unit crossed over by ship to England and from there went to Europe including Holland and Belgium. He demobilized in 1945, married and settled in the Abernethy District. Sydney has been a Member of the Abernethy Branch #26 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 62 years.
