FORSAITH, Thomas Stuart WWII Thomas was born on October 13, 1917 in Maple Creek, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1941and took officers training at Gordon Head, BC. He went overseas in 1942 and returned in October 1945. In March of 1947, he received his Masters Degree in Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He served in Canada, England, and Europe until his discharge in 1945. He served his community in many ways. Thomas passed away in 2000. FORSYTH, Donald George WWII Donald was born on October 27, 1911 in Grand Coulee, SK. He joined the Air Force in July of 1943 and became a Radar Mechanic. He was shipped to England in July of 1944 with the RAF Squadron 617 (Dam Busters Squadron) and with them served in England until the end of the war. He returned to teaching in Saskatchewan where his last teaching position was in Craik, Sask when he retired in 1971. No Photo FORSYTH, Leonard WWII Leonard was born in December of 1908 in Edmonton, AB. He enlisted with the Navy in 1940 and was trained as a naval cook. Due to an eye injury from baseball as a child he was not allowed to bear arms He served on several corvettes. While on leave he met his future wife, Opal Stonehocker and they were married on August 15th, 1941. After his discharge in 1945, the young couple settled in Pierceland, Sask. with their two boys. Leonard passed away in 1994. FOSTI, John WWII John was born in Sheho, SK and attended Sheho School. He enlisted with the R.C.N.V.R. in June of 1943. He served in the North Atlantic until his discharge on July 29, 1947 with the rank of Able Seaman. After the war he married Florence and they raised four children. John is retired and currently resides in British Columbia. FOWLER, Jack WWII Jack was born in 1916. He came to Carrot River as a teenager and in 1935 filed for a homestead. He enlisted with the Army on July 27, 1940, and served in Canada, France, Belgium, Holland, England, and Germany until his discharge on December 5, 1945.
