EDE, William Howard WWII Howard was born on February 15, 1898 in St. Austell, Cornwall, England. He came to Canada when he was 5 and grew up in Treverbyn Farm in Whitewood, SK. He enlisted with the South Saskatchewan Regiment in 1940. He was transferred to the 1st Canadian Unit in July of 1942 and in June of 1943 he was posted as Armourer to First Division, the Eighth Army, Central Mediterranean Forces. He served in Canada, Britain, Sicily, Italy, Belgium, Holland and Germany until his discharge in October of 1945. Howard passed away on September 19, 1992 in Kelowna. EDWARDS, Art WWII Art was born in 1920. He attended Old Arborfield School and later Zenon Park School. He helped his father on the homestead. He enlisted with the Army on December 16, 1942 and served in Canada until his discharge on January 22, 1945. After the war he was married and moved the family to the homestead and began mixed farming until 1979 when he retired to Zenon Park. Art is deceased. EDWARDS, Vernon WWII Vernon was born in 1920 in Old Arborfield, SK. He moved to Ontario with his parents in 1941. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in October of 1943. He served as a Mechanic in Canada and England until his discharge in September of 1945. After the war he married and worked for General Motors in Oshawa for over 29 years. ELLEY, Ladley WWII Ladley enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army on December 10, 1942. He served in Canada until his discharge on February 4, 1944. FARRAR, Harold WWI Harold was born on September 18, 1888 in Nelson, Lancashire, England. He came to Canada in 1904 and filed on a Homestead in the Edmore District where he farmed. He joined the 214th Saskatchewan Battalion in Leslie Sask. on March 7, 1916 and served in Canada and with the 214th Overseas Battalion C.E.F.
