BURDETT, Albert WWI Albert was born on January 2, 1896 in Byrtle, Manitoba. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy during WWI and served in France. After his discharge he returned to his homestead north of Belbutte, SK where he farmed. He married Marjorie Stokes and they raised four children, Frank, Stanley, Ernie and Wilma. Albert passed away on Mach 2, 1961. No Photo BURGESS, Ross WWII Ross came to the Arborfield area in 1937 to operate the shingle mill. He enlisted with the Army on June 5, 1940. He served with the Regina Rifles Tank Corps as a Gunner in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Germany, and Holland. He was wounded at Caen and again in Holland. He received his discharge on October 19, 1945. BURNS, Brent G. Special Duty Area Brent was born in 1948 in Haileybury, ON. He joined the Algonquin Regiment in 1964 and transferred to the R.C.A.F. in 1965. He served in various locations throughout Canada and had two tours in the Middle East. He was awarded the Canadian Decoration with Bar, Peacekeeping Medal, UNEF II Medal twice, Canada 125 Medal, Golden Jubilee Medal, and the SK Centennial Medal. Brent went on to serve as the RCL Saskatchewan Commandʼs Executive Director, the position he holds now. He has been a member of the Moose Jaw Branch #59 for 26 years. BURROWS, Hedley WWI Hedley was born in 1883 in Brookfield, NS. He traveled to the USA and was married there in 1907. He moved to Truro, NS in 1912. He enlisted with the Army when the war broke out and served overseas with the Colonel John Stanfieldʼs Battalion primarily in France until his discharge in 1919 with the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Branch #203. Hedley passed away in 1967. No Photo BURSETH, Allen K. WWII Allen enlisted in the Canadian Army in November of 1942 with the Motorized Infantry. While in action he was hit through the neck by a sniper at Teapold Canal. He served in England, France, Holland and Belgium until his discharge in February of 1945 with the rank of Private. After the war he came home to the Sheho District.
