Worbey Emile Agarand is our only remaining veteran from the original founding members. “We will remember them!” Joined the Airforce May 1943 Took basic training in Edmonton, Alta. Posted to Goose Bay Labrador Spent year and half there. Transferred to the Army. Took basic training at Fredericton N.B. then took paratroop training at Camp Shilo where he received his wings. When the war ended in Europe he signed up for the pacific and started traning to be sent to the U.S.A. when they dropped the bomb. Was discharged in May, 1946 at Camp Dundurn. The Royal Canadian Legion #300 was started April 23, 1946. Over the years the Legion has had many fund raisers for anyone needing help. Money was raised for a new addition to the building, new windows, flooring, lights, PA system, tables, chairs. The community helped put on a new roof. In 2007 we turned the building over to the Rural Municipality Of Eagle Creek #376, because of declining membership. Comrade Louis Syhut James H. Bailey William Wensel Enlisted in Army Sept. 8, 1939 Dec. 1939 about 1000 troops were sent to Halifax where they boarded the Polish Liner-Battery for the crossing to Scotland. The regiment was mobilized on Sept. 1939 by the late Lt. Col. W.G. Stillman shortly after the outbreak of WWII. The famed regiment has the distinction of being the only Alberta infantry Unit included in the First Canadian Division. Was discharged April 20, 1945 IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY FATHER LOIS SYHUT
