THORBURN, James Henry Walter WWII James was born in 1906 in Maymont, SK. He enlisted with the Prince Albert Volunteers on May 18, 1942. He later joined the South Saskatchewan Regiment and served in Canada and England as a Driver for officers, ambulance, trucks and troops until his discharge on December 19th, 1945. James passed away in 1987. TINANT, Alexandre WWII Alexandreʼs parents homesteaded 5 miles south of Zenon Park. He enlisted with the Army on April 26, 1945 and served with the Pacific Volunteer Infantry in Canada until his discharge on April 12, 1946. After the war he took a correspondence course in agriculture then entered the University of Manitoba and graduated from there. TINANT, Antoinette WWII Antoinetteʼs parents homesteaded 5 miles south of Zenon Park. She enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force on July 7, 1943. She served as a Hospital Assistant in Canada until her discharge in 1946. After the war she worked in hospitals for many years. TREMBLAY, Art WWII Art was born in 1924 in Wakaw, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Engineers and served in Canada, England and Europe. After his return home, he married Yvonne Tuyttens and raised four girls and one boy. He worked for the railroad in Kamloops as a brakeman. Art passed away in 1999. TREMBLAY, Harvey WWII Harvey was born in 1918 in Wakaw, SK. He enlisted with the Armored Corps during World War Two. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Harvey survived the total destruction of 3 different tanks, but, as fate would have it, he was crippled for life when hit by a civilian truck when crossing the street after completing a game of fastball. He married a Norwegian nurse named Mary Astelund and raised two children. Harvey passed away on April 16, 2000. The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 341
