STREETON, James WWI James was born on April 15, 1897. He enlisted with the First Canadian Military Regiment on April 15, 1915. He took his training at Camp Hughes, later known as Camp Shilo. He was transferred to England and then to France with the 1st C.M.R.ʼs (Saskatchewan Division). James was killed in action at the Battle of Somme on September 15, 1916. STRONG, John Elgin WWII John was born on June 14, 1923 in Carnoustie District (close to Rocanville, SK). He enlisted with the Army on September 2, 1943 and served as rifleman in Canada, England, France, Belgium, and Germany until June 6, 1946.In 1947, John married Muriel Bartleman and together they had three boys and two girls. Johnʼs hobbies were woodworking and gardening. He was active in the Rocanville Legion until poor health forced him to take a less active role. He remained a Legion member until he passes away in 1994 at the age of 71. John passed away in 1994. STUART, Charles WWI Charles was born on May 25, 1889 in Pilot Mound, Manitoba. He came to the Jordan River area in 1912. He enlisted with the Army in December of 1916 and served overseas where he was wounded at Passchendaele, Belgium. He returned home in 1918. He filed for a homestead in the Arborfield area in 1930. He was a charter member of the Legion Branch to the British Empire Service League #203. Charles passed away on September 26, 1949. SUNDBERG, Ernest W. WWII Ernest was born in 1922. He enlisted with the Regina Rifles Regiment during the Second World War and served in Canada. Ernest passed away in 2005. SUTCLIFFE, Robert William WWII Robert was born on December 17, 1924 in Moose Jaw, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Navy on September 16, 1943 and served in Canada and on the High Seas until his discharge as Able Seaman on February 13, 1946. He received the following medals: Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, 1939-45 Atlantic Star, and the War Medal 1939-45. Robert passed away in 1975.
