SHORE, Arthur WWII Arthur was born in 1920 in the Connell Creek area. He enlisted with the Army in October of 1941 and served with the C.S.R.U. as a Cook in Canada and England until his discharge in 1945.He married while serving overseas. He purchased land in 1950 in the Grassy Run area and farmed there until 1958 when he moved his wife and 4 children to Arborfield. Arthur passed away on July 26, 1999. SIGOUIN, James WWII James was born in Viscount, SK. He came to Zenon Park with his family in 1937. He enlisted with the Army on June 6, 1940 and served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment as a Trooper. He served in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany until his discharge on November 28, 1945. James moved back to Alberta after the war. SIGOUIN, Jules WWII Jules was born in Viscount, SK. He came with his family to Zenon Park. He enlisted with the Army on May 19, 1942 and served with the R.C.E. 20th Field Company in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany until his discharge on February 13, 1946. Jules later moved to Vancouver BC. SIMPSON, Thomas WWI Thomas was born in 1895 in Swan Lake, Manitoba. He served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army during World War One. He came to the Tisdale District in 1919 and was married in 1923. The family homesteaded in 1928 in the Pembina area. In 1931 the family moved to a farm near Tisdale and in 1947 they moved their farmhouse into Tisdale. They raised a family of 9 children. Thomas passed away in February of 1960. No Photo SIREY, Michael WWII & Korean War Michael was born on September 19, 1926 in Insinger, SK. He was called in the spring of 1945 to report for duty during World War Two, but shortly thereafter, was told to continue farming instead. In August of 1950, he enlisted with the Army for the Korean War and served until December 1, 1952. He served in Canada, U.S.A., Japan and Korea. He married Alice in 1955 and they raised a family of three children. Michael is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Sheho Branch #356.
