SHEA, John Thomas WWII John was born in 1913 in Pincher Creek, AB. He married Dava Jean Morrison on March 26th, 1940. He enlisted with the Army and served with the 17th Searchlight Battery in Canada. John passed away on May 7, 1943 due to his service. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal posthumously. SHEMKO, Peter WWII Peter enlisted with the Army on July 15, 1942. He served as a Mechanic in Canada, England and Holland until his discharge on February 15, 1946. SHEPHERD, Frederick Henry WWI & WWII Frederick was born in 1895 in Whitewood, SK. He enlisted with the Army on August of 1915 and served in England and France. That was his second attempt at enlisting as he was found to be underage the first time. He re-enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War Two. He lost his hearing as a result of his missions in Europe and returned to Canada, spending the rest of his life farming with his sons in the Whitewood area. Frederick passed away in 1969. SHEWFELT, Lorne WWI Lorne was born in 1896 in Kingsley, Manitoba. He traveled to the Jordan River area to take up a homestead in 1914. He spent the 1914-15 winter in the area, returning to Manitoba in the spring of 1915 working as a tinsmith for the summer. He enlisted with the Army in the fall of 1915. Lorne was killed in action in Vimy Ridge on April 9, 1917. No Photo SHEWFELT, Milton WWI Milton came to the Jordan River area in 1912. He enlisted with the Army in December of 1916 and served overseas until his discharge. He returned to Winnipeg after the war.
