RYLAND, Albert WWII Albert was born in 1926 in Plato, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Navy during the World War Two and served on the High Seas. Albert passed away in 1982. RYLAND, Clifford E. WWII Clifford was born in 1924 in Plato, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Navy during World War Two and served on the High Seas. Clifford passed away in 2001. SACKNEY, Harry WWII Harry enlisted with the R.C.A. during the Second World War and served in Canada and in England until his discharge. After the war he returned to Sheho and farmed for quite a few years. He joined the Foam Lake Legion Branch in 1947 and was transferred to the Sheho Branch in 1950 when it was formed. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for over thirty-five years before he passed away in March of 1987. SACKNEY, Joseph WWII Joseph was born in Sheho, SK. He enlisted with the Canadian Army Active when the Second World War broke out. He served in Canada and in England. In May of 1943, while on a maneuver in England, Joseph was accidentally killed. He is buried in one of the Soldiers Cemeteries in England. SAMS, Herb WWII Herb was born in 1912. He married Susan in 1928 and they lived in several different places south until 1937 when they bought land across from Girwood School and finally moved there in 1938. He enlisted with the R.C.A.M.C. on January 8, 1942 and served in Canada until his discharge in May of 1946. They raised 6 children and they moved to Drayton Valley and still came back to farm until the spring of 1975. The family later moved to Tisdale, SK. Herb passed away in 1979.
