PETERSON, Curtis Leroy WWII Curtis was born on February 3, 1903 in Mankato, Minnesota and came to Canada when he was eleven months old. He married Edith Roberts on August 21st, 1933. He enlisted with the Army in June of 1939 and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada, England, France, Germany, and Holland. Curtis passed away on October 22, 1982. No Photo PHILIPS, Ben WWI Ben enlisted with the Army during the First World War. He came to Weldon, SK with his family from Wales on May 26th, 1928. He filed for a homestead in the Megan area and in 1934 went to see it. In 1937 the family was moved to Megan where he and his wife Agnes raised a family of 6 children. They retired in 1962 and moved back to Weldon. He passed away in 1976. No Photo PHILIPS, Kitty WWII Kitty was born in 1916 in Wales. She came to Canada with her family, her father received land from the Soldier Settlement Board. She enlisted with the Canadian Womenʼs Army Corps C.M.H.Q., 42 Coy doing clerical work on February 4, 1943 and served in Canada and England until her discharge in 1946. She married in 1949 and moved to Medicine Hat, AB. Kitty passed away in 1987. PHILLIPS, Nora WWII Nora was born in 1924 in Wales. She came to Canada with her family, her father received land from the Soldier Settlement Board. She enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 11, 1942. She served as a Wireless Operator in Canada until her discharge on September 12, 1945. She married in 1948 and moved to Victoria, BC. Nora passed away on August 27, 2007. PICKERSGILL, George WWII George was born on October 16, 1904 in Keyes, Manitoba. He enlisted with the Queenʼs Own Cameron Highlanders on October 30, 1942. He served in Canada and England as a Brengun Driver and was wounded in Normandy. He received his discharge on March 8, 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Branch until 1975 when he transferred to Summerland, BC. George passed away in 1977.
