OREMBA, Alex WWI Alex was born on November 9, 1897 in Satior (Poland). He served in the Czech Liberation Army from 1916 until the end of the war. After the war in 1927, with his wife and two small children, he immigrated to Canada and lived in Esterhazy, SK. Alex passed away on April 30, 1991. OREMBA, Roman WWII Roman was born on July 14, 1917 in Poland. He served with the Polish Army until the Germans took him as a POW. As a POW he worked as farm laborer in eastern Germany, here he found out the Germans were manufacturing a huge bomb. By secretly listening to BBC Radio he learned that the Allies were aware of the deadly bomb but did not know the location. He was successful in relaying the location to an allied spy and soon the Americans bombarded the site. He immigrated to Canada in 1948 and presently resides in Esterhazy. Roman is still an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion. OSHENAK, Jackie WWII Jackie was born in Sheho, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy at the outbreak of the World War Two. He served in many parts if the world for the duration of the war. After his discharge in Regina he chose to live in Manitoba and currently resides in Winnipeg. OSHENAK, Steve WWI Steve was born on January 6, 1898 in Sheho, SK. He enlisted with the R.C.A. during WWI and served in Canada and Russia. He received his Saskatchewan Command Medals in recognition of his service. Upon returning Steve went to school in Regina, Prince Albert, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. He married Mary Haluke on July 20th, 1936 and raised a family of 10 children. No Photo OSINCHUK, Alexander WWII Alexander was born in 1927 in Hoosier, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army and served in Canada. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Big River Branch #136. Alexander passed away in 2003.
