NILE, Thomas WWII Thomas came to the Arborfield area with his family around 1930. He attended Pembina school and later Jordan River School. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army on September 9, 1944. He served in Canada until his discharge on September 29, 1945. NORBURY, George WWII George was born on November 20, 1913 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He came to the Arborfield area in 1930 with his dad and brother to homestead. He enlisted with the South Alberta Regiment on June 8, 1940. He transferred to the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps and served as a Mechanic in Canada, England and Italy until his discharge on August 28, 1945. He later joined the R.C.E.M.E. N.C.O. and served in Canada as well as with the United Nations Peace Keeping Force in the Middle East from 1959-60 and again in 1967. NORBURY, James WWII James was born on January 25, 1906 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He came to the Arborfield area in 1930 with his dad and brother to homestead. He enlisted with the Army on June 16, 1941, and served with the 7th L.A.A. Regiment then transferred to Military Police No. 1 Canadian Repatriation Depot and served in Canada and England until his discharge on March 25, 1946. NORBY, William WWII William was born on January 6, 1909 in North Dakota. He enlisted with the Army on February 14, 1941 and served in Canada and Europe until his discharge on March 5, 1946. William passed away on June 11, 1993. NORELL, Andrew WWII Andrew was born in Sweden. He came to Canada in May of 1930 to the Megan area. He worked for other farmers clearing land and worked for Granville Rouke hauling machinery. He enlisted with the R.C.A.C.E. on October 1, 1943. He served with the Mine Lifting Platoon in Canada, England and Germany until his discharge in 1946. After the war he worked for the Department of Highways until his retirement in 1972.
