NEKORAK, George WWII George was born in Sheho, SK. He enlisted with the Canadian Army in January of 1942 in Infantry. After he took his basic training he served in Canada, England, and Holland until his discharge in February of 1946 with the rank of Private. After his discharge he started farming in 1946 south of Sheho and continued until 1980. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Sheho Branch # 356. George passed away on July 25, 1995. NEKORAK, John WWII John was born on January 18, 1920 in Sheho, SK. He enlisted with Canadian Army Active on October 8, 1945. He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada, Continental Europe, and the Mediterranean until his discharge on December 13th, 1945 with the rank of Sapper. He received the following medals: Canadian Voluntary Service Medal and Clasp, 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, and Italy Star. He married Malinda in 1961 and they raised 2 children. John passed away in October of 1987. NEKORAK, Metro WWII Metro was born in Sheho, SK. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on March 12, 1942. He served in the North Pacific and in the United Kingdom until his discharge on March 12, 1946. After his discharge he returned to the Sheho district and farmed. He married Alice in October of 1973. Metro has been a member of the Sheho Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion for over thirty years and was President for 3 years and was recording secretary for 12 years. NELSON, Henry WWII Henry was born on April 21, 1922 in Coronach, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII. He attended an upgrading course for Air Crew in Regina, then Brandon and Saskatoon and later to Yorkton where he graduated as a Sergeant Pilot and received his wings. While in England he took further training as a bomber pilot and was promoted to Flight Lieutenant. He was then posted to # 10 Squadron in May of 1944. He completed 35 sorties comprising of 166 operational hours. He attacked heavily defended German targets. Henry was a pilot of great courage, fine operational skills and devotion to duty and was presented with the Distinguished Flying Cross on June 18, 1949. Henry passed away in 1984. NESSET, Harold Oliver WWII Harold volunteered in 1942 and served with the R.C.E.M.E. as a rifleman. He was in active service and was injured in route overseas. He then served in Canada until his discharge in January of 1944. After the war he returned home to the farm. Harold passed away on January 2, 1986.
