McGUNIGAL, Philip WWII Philipʼs parents homesteaded northeast of Imperial and moved to the Arborfield area during the 1930ʼs. He enlisted with the R.C.A. on October 3, 1941. He served with the 3rd Field Regiment as an Artillery Man in Canada, England, Sicily, and Italy. Philip was killed in action in Italy on September 4, 1944. He is buried at Montecchio War Cemetery in Italy. McKENZIE, Charles WWI & WWII Charles was born in 1896 in Aberdeen, Scotland. He enlisted with the Canadian Expeditionary Force during WWI. He joined the Canadian Army Service Corp during WWII and served in Europe and Canada. Charles was gassed in the First World War. He passed away in 1970. McKIE, William J. WWII Bill enlisted with the Canadian Army Active on March 20, 1941. He served with the Royal Service Corps. 41st General Transport Company in Canada, Sicily, Italy, England, France, and Germany until his discharge on November 2, 1945 as Sergeant. He married Eileen Armstrong and they have three children. Bill is a Life Member of the Foam Lake Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion and has been a member for 47 years. McKNIGHT, George WWI George was born in 1890 in Gold Lake, Ontario. He enlisted with the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles. He served in Canada, England and France. He was wounded at Vimy and rescued by a good friend. George was a member of the Big River Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion. George is deceased.
