McGILLIVRAY, Clarence Hector WWII Clarence was born in 1917 in Piapot, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army 16/22 Sask. Horse in 1940. He served in England, France, Germany, and Holland until his discharge in 1946. He married Marjorie Beasley before he went overseas and had 4 children, Sydney, Carolyn, Evelyn and Lyle. He received 5 medals. Clarence passed away in 1980 and is buried in Piapot Cemetery. McGILLIVRAY, Melvin WWII Melvin was born in 1920 in Piapot, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army and became a sergeant in the armored brigade tank command during WWII and served in England, France, Germany, and Holland until his discharge in 1946. He married Kathleen (Barber) Fyles in December 1948 who had a son, Robert. A daughter, Melvina was born in 1950. Melvin passed away in August of 1994 and is buried in Maple Creek Cemetery. McGREGOR, Earl Robert WWII Earl was born in 1920 in Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Army (16/22 Sask. Horse) on January 16, 1942. He served with the Infantry Corps in the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, and the Mediterranean until his discharge in 1945. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Clasp, the France-Germany Star, the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the Defense Medal and the War Service Badge (General Service Class). Earl passed away on December 25, 2000. McGREGOR, James Leslie WWII James was born in 1919 in Tompkins, SK. He joined the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders in July of 1942. He was wounded in action in 1944 and sent to England to a hospital for a few weeks, then returned to action until the war ended. Following the war he married Gladice Gelmer in 1946 and had 3 children. He received “La Croix de Guerre 1940” with Palm from the Belgium Government. He served in Canada, England, France, Holland, Belgium, and Germany. James passed away in 1963. McGUNIGAL, Jack WWII Jack enlisted with the West Nova Scotia Regiment on November 17, 1941. He was transferred to the 20th Coy, Forestry Corps and served as a Rifleman in Canada, England, Sicily, and Italy.
